Theatre has existed for thousands of years. Although it’s intentions and styles have evolved throughout history, it has never lost it’s presence. Many historians believe that some forms of theatre existed in the times of cavemen to convey folktales when language was not yet fully developed. However, as language and man progressed, the Greeks came up with the first documented forms of theatre. These plays were also used to convey folktales, but also cautionary tales. Because of this, tragedies were far more common than comedies, although, comedies still did exist. Some of the most renowned Greek plays include: The Oedipus Rex Trilogy, Medea, Hippolytus, and Antigone. The most famous comedies were written by Aristophanes. The next age of great
