First I will be talking about the grey wolf. It is a “least concern” species, according to National Geographic. They are found at Yellowstone National Park. Not only are they found there though, as they are also found in some parts of the eastern US. These wolves were put there so they are guaranteed to have a habitat to live, hunt and thrive in. They are the most common species of wolf in the world according to the book “The Wolf”. The grey wolf almost became extinct in 1974 but thanks to many places like wolf havens and wolf breeding programs the population bounced back making the species it is today. I mentioned how the grey wolf was almost extinct, but they made a massive comeback, how the Mexican wolf would be extinct without the US government and how the red wolf is not 100% wolf today except for a few. Wolves are strong, powerful and beautiful creatures that were and still, today are being driven to almost extinction from humans. We humans need to do a better job trying to help and understand wolves instead of harming them. Maybe, in 50 years from now, the wolf population will increase and all the species will not have to worry about habitat loss and a decreased population.
