For example, Richard Webber, the former chief of surgery, is trying to cope with his wife’s alzheimer. For many, this disease is something one might deal on a daily bases. So, they find the show relatable as opposed to a show about an alien attack. Watching a show with reasonable issues is easier to follow along compared to a sci-fi show. If a TV series has only simple characters, the show seems to stuck and can no longer develop the storyline or thoughts. But, Grey’s Anatomy, is just the opposite. Rhimes creates complex characters and gives complex backgrounds. This keeps the show moving along and interesting.
