Growing up in a first-generation immigrant family, I have had a lot of pressure on my back since I was young. Both my parents had immigrated to America in their early adulthood, only finishing high school in their home country, China. From starting first to work as a waiter, then a construction worker for my father, and a nail technician for my mother, their lives here were a big struggle. Since I could remember, I watched my father leave the house every day at 7 a.m. and not come home until 8 p.m., always extremely tired and hungry from the day's work under the sun.

In 2016, my grandparents immigrated to America and stayed with us. This has created more pressure for me. Since both my parents were busy working during the day, this meant that
