Gun Control One of the most vastly argued topic in today’s society is gun control. According to Webster’s Dictionary, gun control is “laws that control how guns are sold and used and who can own them.” Every law-abiding citizen has the right to own and carry a firearm, as long as they are properly trained and show the responsibility necessary to be safe in society. Even though as citizens we have the right to bear arms, does not mean that everyone should be allowed to. For instance, people who have mental health disabilities or criminal backgrounds should not be allowed to own or carry firearms. The NRA is a non-profit organization that protects and defends the rights under the Constitution of the United States. The main right that the NRA serves to defend is the Second Amendment right to bear arms. The NRA started as an organization to train and educate people in the proper ways to use firearms; throughout the years, they have become a very key factor in the argument of gun control. The NRA has a major role in the legislation part of the argument about gun control, arguing against bills that may infringe the Second Amendment right. One of these groups is the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. According to their website, “…Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America was created to demand action from legislatures, state and federal; companies; and educational institutions to establish common-sense gun reforms”. This group has many different tactics to promote gun control in the United States. One of the tactics that the group uses is writing bills to legislation and promote the use of gun control throughout the country. Another tactic used by Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is the use of social media. The group calls out to businesses and corporations to not allow firearms into their stores, saying that they feel threatened by the presence of a firearm around them. The problem with this tactic is that not everybody feels that people carrying firearms legally are a threat, and when businesses refuse tell people not to carry in their stores, the group boycotts the business. Another tactic that this group uses that is highly controversial is called “SWATing”. “SWATing” is a tactic that involves calling the police and over exaggerating the situation about a person carrying a firearm. This tactic has led to the deaths of multiple innocent people and is a danger to the people around the situation. The group also has posted photos of gun
