There are a vast number of characteristics in the surveys that are utilized by the media when they are investigating the ongoing controversial policy of gun control. There was a reputable survey taken by Time magazine that posted their results that was apparently an error about the number of the fully automatic guns that people owned. The accuracy of the analyses of these types of firearms is usually exaggerated by the media when they release information to the public. The press is merely required to issue a specific amount of the survey to the public. 2). After the Florida massacre in February, numerous individuals wanted more hard-hitting gun regulations. This tactic is the same for all the gun firings going on in society. People protest for more stringent laws, but in reality, research has shown that even with them in effect it isn’t going to stop. Although people are getting guns most of the time it is not legal, so altering the laws around firearms would not improve the issue because people will still be able to get their hands on them illegally and not being caught or using them for uncalled-for things and it would be a hard task to stop that. “In October of 2016, Hillary Clinton announced a plan describing the executive activities and legislation she signed as president acquiring an upper hand during her campaign. With all the gun firing and violence going on in our world today countless individuals are turning to more robust gun laws to help “Keep them safe.” A year ago, when the deadliest mass shooting occurred in Las Vegas, and fifty-eight people died due to a “bump stock,” and there was no new law proposal until after seventeen children and adults died in a shooting in a high school. There were talks about Trump; that he knows what could stop all this irrational drama that is killing many people. “While the President and members of Congress contemplate how to respond to the Florida massacre, the statistics allow one to see how their state's representatives and senators have voted on major gun legislation over the past two-and-a-half decades” (Kurtzleben, 2018, para. 7). The government is attempting to use a blunt instrument to reduce crime instead of targeting the real issues. Effective gun control would entail significant changes and would raise significant civil liberties issues. The real problem is not the gun but the criminal and the crime. There is no single response to end the dispute over gun control. Many variables must be analyzed but the evidence presented cannot be discounted.
