This paper will examine the many obstacles that have influenced the uneven HIV epidemic among African American women in the United States. There is a devastatingly larger disparity among racial groups in the female population than the male population affected with new diagnoses of HIV. According to the CDC in 2013 ,the incidence rate of HIV among African American women is 20 times higher than White women and 5 times higher than that of Hispanic women compared to African American men where incidence rate was 7 time higher than White men and 2 times higher than Hispanic men.
