Habitat for Humanity helps people from the United States to Bulgaria. After disasters from war and poor economies, Habitat travels to these countries to build homes for those whom homes were ruined. Their mission is “to build a world where everyone has a decent place to live.” Also, to become a Habitat Homeowner they provide a financial education program. Habitat for Humanity support and build homes for people across the globe and deserve to be supported generously so they may continue their work for the world. To become a ‘Habitat Homeowner’ the organization makes sure the applicants will be prepared and put in the effort to create and sustain their new home. One can simply apply to become a homeowner. They do not discriminate on who can become an owner by race nor religion. All people are welcome to apply if they are truly in need of a safe household. All Habitat homeowners build their own home or other houses, volunteer at a Habitat store, and take homeownership classes. After the House is built the new homeowners pay a mortgage to help build more houses. They make sure the people who the house was built for are ready for the house and will help others. In Fiji after the Cyclone Winston in 2016, Habitat for Humanity helped over 7,000 of the affected families by distributing emergency Shelter packs, repairing houses, building 27 new homes, and fixing sanitation and water facilities. All the way in Bolivia, single mother, Elizabeth López Montano with the help of Habitat for Humanity built a stable home for her 2 children.
