The parents continue watching television after he gets taken away, due to their lack of ability to retain thought. The ballerina program they were watching was interrupted by a news bulletin. The news bulletin reveals that Harrison Bergeron had escaped from jail, was brilliant, an athlete, under- handicapped, and extremely dangerous. Harrison breaks into the studio and claims to be the emperor, demanding an empress. The strongest ballerina steps forwards. He commands the musicians to play, and they danced.
