The belief that hate is with us at birth is a belief of adults who already harbor hate, if a child is asked if they hate the Islamic family down the street they would say no. The innocence of children allows them to love anything and everyone until they are taught not to. Parents around the world raise their children in vastly different ways. The typical Christian parents who go to church every Sunday and send their children to Sunday school and pray at every meal. The free spirited parent who gives their children the freedom to explore and make their own opinions about things. There is no “wrong” way to raise a child. Society commands that people look a certain way and act a certain way, and if you do act that certain way then you are wrong in every way. To be perfect becomes everyone’s goal. Humans, who are susceptible to many things, accept this without a second thought. Teenagers, whose minds are consuming a million thoughts a minute, are bullying others for not fitting the mold. Television shows, movies, and music all affect a child’s way of thinking. If people do not step up a demand change for the better, then better will never happen. If a child’s role model is Barbie, then will that child aspire to “be anything”? No. That child will try to look as much like Barbie as possible, and when they fail they are devastated and the cycle repeats into adulthood until hate is a second language.
The upbringing of children is the biggest epidemic in the world. Society is poisoning their kind and innocent thoughts full of love and turning them into hate. Bitter people are training children to be just as bitter as they are. Of course love must be relearned throughout life, but instead of destroying it when children are young, society should nurture it. Instead of portraying love as bad, portray it as something
