Did you know that Hatshepsut was the first and most successful pharaoh of her time? A pharaoh is a ruler of ancient Egypt. She was the best until Cleopatra around 14 centuries later. Hatshepsut portrayed herself as a man for respect. She led ancient Egypt into a time of peace and prosperity. Hatshepsut reigned for 20 years, six years as a regent, and also declared herself pharaoh until her stepson was old enough to rule. Hatshepsut's background was full of pharaohs. She was the eldest of the three children Thutmose Ⅰ and Ahmose had, but Thutmose Ⅰ died when she was only 12 years old. She married her half-brother Thutmose ⅠⅠ to keep the royal blood.
