All of us have experienced a moment of uncertainty and have overcome uncertainty in different ways. What motivated you to overcome uncertainty? Feelings of bravery and courage helped Hatshepsut, the first female pharaoh of Egypt, overcome her moment of uncertainty and helped the brave Perseus slash Medusa’s head off. Strong feelings such as bravery and courage can guide you to perseverance in moments of uncertainty and can lead you to moments of certainty, confidence, and prosperity. Paragraph 6 says, “With the death of Tuthmosis II, Egypt was left without a king.Maat was a delicate thing, and without a pharaoh to tend to its preservation, it was in danger of collapsing.” But Egypt and Hatshepsut soon escaped their dark moment of uncertainty and fear. Courage and Bravery encouraged and helped Hatshepsut step up and do her best to become one of the best pharaohs and save Egypt from collapsing. Paragraph 12 says, “Egypt required a strong pharaoh to ensure Maat. Hatshepsut could be that pharaoh–even if she did happen to be a woman.” Hatshepsut was brave enough to step in as a pharaoh, starting as the daughter of Tuthmosis, whom nobody recognized or acknowledged, to become the first female pharaoh of Egypt and save Egypt while making history. What motivated Perseus to slay Medusa, and overcome his worries of being unable to slay Medusa successfully, was the promise of great fame and bravery that helped Perseus along the way, to help him build the courage to kill Medusa.
