It was hard to imagine how this gorgeous cove was once a volcanic crater. The eye-gazing tourist packed the beach waiting to dip into the cool translucent sea, trying to escape the scorching heat. When I made my way to the shore where the sea meets the sand, I sat down and the water rose and enveloped around my waist. I put on my snorkeling gear and plunged into the warm tropical water, the water was so clear I could count each grain of sand underneath me. I swam past the coral reefs, gazing at these giant, beautiful structures as the terrifying electric eels popped their heads out of the coral, showing me their razor-like teeth. I swam past a school of fish called, “Humuhumunukunukuapua’a,” or know has a reef tiger fish. The reef tiger fish is a bright colorful fish with vibrant yellow stripes and black and white polka dots.
