This goal states, “To create social and physical environments that promote good health for all.” A goal such as this takes a great amount of people working together to produce a good outcome. Therefore, one way to help meet this goal would be to have free clinic days in areas where many people are not able to afford doctor’s visits. A free clinic day could include a free check-up and possible vaccinations; these two things could vastly improve the overall health outcome of this population, as well as many others. Also, having more public job fairs so people could see what all job opportunities are available out there to make money to pay for health insurance. Having a low income is a big reason why many people do not seek medical help because they simply cannot afford the cost. Job fairs would be a great way for people to try and bring in some type of income. Lastly, to help tie together the goal for Healthy People 2020, promoting transportation and education would be an excellent way to help those of low-economic status. A way to accomplish both of these would be to have free transportation to the free open clinic day and educate people on certain diseases and viruses on the way there. Not having accessibility relates to communication and physical access. Health professionals should know how to communicate effectively with disability patients from different ranges. People who have hearing loss, vision impairment or speech problem disability are at risk for not receiving effective communication. On the other hand, time is very important in examination and provider should plan to spend sufficient time with these individuals. A regular examination with an individual without disability might not take as long compared to someone with disability. One way to improve the problem is to address the unbiased distribution of resources among people with disabilities and those without disabilities by increasing appropriate health care for people with disabilities.
