PRECEDE AND PROCEED RISK PROTECTIVE AND PLANNING MODELS In the field of behavioral health and treatment, it is paramount to find solutions to a particular health problem for your current situation. When creating a health promotion program beneficiaries of that program should be taken into account for all of their different factors that are associated with the targeted group. The processes of information gathering must be properly adhered to for the correct quality control measures of assessment (Edberg, 2015).

It creates an order of importance to which health problems will be addressed. The meaning reveals how is this issue important and what resources that should be allocated for that particular problem (Edberg, 2015). The Epidemiological Assessment suggests that you have to identify the nature and the extent of the effects that the problem displays within the community, what population groups and also focus on the trends displayed within the community. You can get this information from local health agencies or National Agencies like the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. There are some additional terms you need to know in order to conduct an epidemiological assessment. Morbidity Data, incidence of prevalence and disease, Mortality data, deaths to disease and other factors, Comorbidity, related health conditions, Incidence, rate of reported diseases within the population, Prevalence, current rate of disease and health problems and spread of that problem in a population (Edberg, 2015). Another assessment is the Behavioral and Environmental …show more content…
Its different than Precede Proceed model, but the idea is similar. It?s a theory based planning model focused on the targets of change. It also uses correlational factors associated with risky behaviors. In this example, there is a web of risk factors involved. This model uses algorithms to predict associated risk factor outcomes. Some of the risk factors are: Individual the person themselves, Peer, what friends are doing, Family, atmosphere at home, School, climate is positive or negative, Community pressures resources, norms these factors all play a part in promoting or negating possible risk (Edberg, 2015). Some protective factors are individual, social bonding and healthy beliefs. There are also resilience factors to consider that offset risk factors and the web of influence to show how it?s all connected to one another. This model also has three phases: Assessment, Implementation, and Evaluation (Edberg,
