She said her hearing loss is not a disability, just a different ability. She went on to say how she doesn’t let it define her but something she owns and that her ear molds are another way she is able to express herself-currently sparkly PSU blue and white! Going off that I wanted to find out if her optimism persisted. I ask if she had the ability to change anything about herself, would it be her hearing ability? She responded back with a stern, “No!” She attributes her hearing loss with her passion to the field of Audiology. To Arianna, her hearing loss helps her relate to her patients as true empathy and the ability to give more concrete advice and counseling. I think Arianna’s outlook on her hearing loss is very inspirational. She has such a positive and bright outlook on it and that it doesn’t hinder her in anyway but instead helps her and give an advantage over other audiologists.
