Hidden Hero is Jesse’s final year of high school and the first day at a new school. Ever since Jesse’s father’s passing, Jesse and his mother have moved several times. Jesses’ father was a firefighter in a remote town in Montana. On a call, one stormy night, Jesse’s father lost his life saving a family who were trapped in a burning building. Jesse and his father were very close. From a young age, Jesse would get to ride along with his father, learning firsthand the life of a fireman. The tragic death of his father devastated young Jesse and he began to detach himself from friends and family. However, at this point in Jesse’s life, he is pretty much immune to the abuse projected by his fellow peers. This high school is your typical stereotype with its popular football hero (Big Jake) and the beautiful (Miss Alburn) the captain of the cheerleading squad. These two characters are like the King and Queen of the school and are even treated as royalty by the whole town. The community is all about their football, like in the days when ancient Rome pitted gladiators against one another on the battlefield and cheered uncontrollably when their hero would rise from the dust. But little did the town know that they were about to witness true heroics from somewhere so unexpected. It was the first game of the season, and the school was prepping for a home game. The whole town was pitching in with graffiti and posters throughout the halls and classrooms and even downtown Main St. There was to be a prep rally on Friday, as the game would be played on Saturday.
