Do you remember playing with water guns with your friends, playing laser tag in arcades? If those are core memories for most children, why can’t it be for teens or adults? Games with simulated violence are diverting because it's an energy release, it's a way to connect with others, and it's voluntary. To back up my evidence I'm using “High-Jinks: Shoot-Out” by Guy Martin. An example of it being an energy release is when they are hunting other students. In the story it quotes “...The seniors spent the night on a cul-de-sac in the Heights.” This shows that they are amused by this game and enjoy having something to release their energy, especially after school and having so much work. Students enjoy
