The article,”I just want to be Average,” Mike Rose introduced that the time he lived had a bad society in California. He did not like his grammar class and Math class. Therefore, he only could be a average student, probably worse than the average. However, an important person showed up in his junior year of high school. Jack McFarland who was Mike's junior year English teacher. Jack inspired Mike to start becoming a fun of the Englished. Also, Mike became getting A in the English class. Even though Mike did not attend to the famous university in California, he attends to the Laymont University because Jack wrote a recommendation for him. My favorite quote in this article is. “I just wanna be average”(Mike). This quote did not said by Mike directly but came from one of his classmates, Ken Harvey. Ken wanted to express that he just want to be an average person. As I was reading the article, I think every people are the same, so everyone is average. Therefore, being average does not require much knowledge. Jack is the only one who is educational in the article, and he changed Mike successfully.
