Should high schools remove sports such as basketball, football, baseball or soccer? High schools in the U.S. should not remove after school sports because it benefits student athletes by encouraging them to keep their grades up in school and allowing them to be part of a team. Sports should not be removed because of how they benefit student athletes. Sports are a big part of high school and the experience of being part of a team and that shouldn’t be taken away from us.

Things like leader ship, self-confidence, and self-respect, and those are great qualities to have as an adult. Studies show that “former student-athletes tend to donate time and money more frequently than people who weren’t part of teams” says Kevin Kniffin. As you have read it benefits students in high school that enjoy playing sports to have sports there in case they ever want to try out. But taking sports away from students would be unfair to students that can’t afford college and that aren’t smart enough to receive academic scholar ships. Not only them but students who enjoy playing sports in general. “School should be about learning, not sports” says Amanda Ripley.
