The word of God instructs us in 2nd Timothy 2:21, to cleanse ourselves from our old ways and we can do good work. We are advised to keep from evil in Proverbs 4:27 which correlates with the instructions in 2nd Timothy. Moreover, 1st Corinthians 3:17 advises us not to harm our bodies and then nursong is referred to as a calling in our pledge. We all have heard nursing is not for everybody and that is correct because it’s an appointment by God. To my knowledge on God has the authority to call an individual to perform a duty or ministry. Ephesians 4:1 tells us to be desiring of our calling; all the traits listed above are areas the Lord wants of us to apply His word to our lives and to be worthy of our profession. In the Good New Translation Proverbs 3:3-4 states, “ Never let go of loyalty and faithfulness. Tie them around your neck; write them on your heart. If you do this, both God and people will be pleased with you.” Furthermore, Mark 10:45 says, Jesus came to serve and we as His children as to model in behavior; nevertheless, serving others is a core principle of nursing.
