Many aspects make up someone’s identity, such as humility, integrity, creativity, and their personal experiences. However, it's up to them whether they choose to embrace those qualities or not. From celebrating my Hispanic culture to immersing myself in fan-fic stories, and embracing the unique perspective of being part of Generation Z - these are the threads that weave the tapestry of my life. On the subject of culture, there aren't many other things I could think of other than my Hispanic origins, and how much that impacts me as an individual. To elaborate, being Hispanic is so much more than the stereotype of being loud, obnoxious, and violent. In simpler terms, my culture shapes me as an individual, but my community is the one that shows me the meaning of hospitality, unconditional love, and support. When I think of what it means to have hospitality, unconditional love, and support, I think of my religious community. I have been going to church my whole life and could not imagine my life without it. Whenever I interact with my congregation, I begin to understand just how supportive and hospitable they are, and it is truly inspiring. My Catholic community taught me that to show unconditional love and support you have to be accepting of all, no matter their differences, you have to shield and care for whatever may be that you love; For I am to love all of God’s creations. Hospitality and support are the simple basis of my morals as I am to be as accepting and welcoming to anyone and everyone. These principles and moral codes that my Catholic community fostered in me are what helped me become the person I am today.
