Not only was the film based on facts, but also accounts from people who lived through it. The main source of the accounts was from secretary Traudl Junge’s personal memoirs, as stated at the end of the film (Hirschbiegel 2004). This was hinted at in a few places within the film; however, the most obvious was when Eva Braun and Adolf Hitler were married in their office, but the camera focused more on Traudl watching from her desk (Hirschbiegel 2004). The historical accuracy in the film made everything feel more realistic, especially in in a situation that a lot of people today have not experienced. The fact that this movie stayed true to the known historical facts and accounts while presenting them in a theatrical manner really contributes to making this an excellent
