This quote from Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America show the customs and beliefs of the Hmong, “shamanism, ancestor worship, and animism (spirit worship) are common.--- Although traditional Hmong religion consists of shamanism and worship of spirits and ancestors, Christianity is much more common among the Hmong than among the ethnic Lao.” (Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America 2: 331-344). Giving information about that Hmong changing religion which proving they did showed they did change their beliefs in the culture. Another quote coming from Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America explaining arts and crafts and why it’s unique. Which talked about how Hmong explained their arts, “drawing scenes of the life they had left behind them in Laos and sewing them into tapestries. Often known as “story cloths,”. Also another related quote, “Some tell stories about Hmong life, using hand gestures to depict activities such as farming, digging, or picking flowers.” (Gale Encyclopedia of Multicultural America 2: 331-344). Some of the customs were what they did back then, making music and make art to tell stories. Now through recent times, these things are still used but also they improved these arts and crafts. Creation stories help tell Hmong people to help start a culture’s mythology which then helped make it better, Hmong have became what they are representing their creations to stories to how they were created. These types of customs in ancient times have helped changed and shape up the Hmong to how they celebrate customs or what they believe in today, knowing that they changed beliefs and knowing they changed customs. Archetypes in folk stories help show how people are supposed to be, showing that they have changed learning these archetypes by showing how lessons which can relate to life to outsmarting others or having good morals.
