The Homeless of Stockton
Have you ever driven on a freeway in California and been stop in a traffic jam and gaze around the infrastructure? Some road are lifted by magnificent support columns similar to the columns of the ancient Minoans which are wide on the top and narrow on the bottom, other roads stretch with more than six lane heading one bound, but, if you happen to use the freeways and highways that cross Stockton and pay close attention to what is under neat an ordinary concrete road, you will notice something different and that is people living day to day in tents and shanty houses under several part of freeways and highways. The definition of Homeless is without a home, in which the categories of chronically homeless, unaccompanied, and unsheltered fall. There is a big number of homeless people in Stockton, According to the San Joaquin county 2011 point-in homeless count Homeless men made up 56% of the overall homeless population. Which is 1,479 of 2,641 homeless, and women made 42 % out of the homeless population which is 1,125 of 2,641 homeless, in the San Joaquin area which includes Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, and Tracy with the most homeless people. The Streets of Stockton should be clear of homeless people and program that help the homeless should focus more in helping the homeless people and those especially those with chronic illness so that homeless people can be helped in a more efficient ways, which I propose as Supportive Housing to tailor for the Stockton Homeless, psychological help for individual that need it so it helps them to assort their situation in life, social assistances so that they have change to help themselves and not programs do all the work for
