Homelessness is if someone cannot own a house, its fairly straightforward. But, the causes of homelessness can be very complicated. Some reasons that one might be homeless are because of costly health issues, unaffordable housing, escaping domestic violence, or going through an economic crisis. However, the 2 main reasons linked to homelessness can be seen in the article, “HOMELESSNESS IN THE US” when it states, “There are currently two major contributors to the housing and homelessness crises: a lack of low cost housing nationwide and the limited scale of housing assistance programs”. The articles “Are Tent Cities Solutions to Homelessness in the U.S.?” and “How Do Tent Cities Operate?” propose solutions to help with the important issue of homelessness. One of these solutions is homeless camps, or tent cities. These homeless shelters are large groups of tents in a flat area, which aim to give people a place to stay if they cannot afford anything else. The sources “Are Tent Cities Solutions to Homelessness in the U.S.?” and “How Do Tent Cities Operate?” propose one solution: “Tent cities are places where people live together in a group of makeshift tents and tarps and other shelters. The author is arguing that we should fix the important issue of homelessness by giving them a place to stay in these tents. This solution would help fix the issue by allowing the homeless to have a place to stay that is free and shelters them from the weather. This solution is important because if homeless people cannot afford to buy or rent a house, tent cities give them a place to live.
