The major boom of technology is more recent in schools. In the past decade many schools around the country and around the world have implemented different forms of technology into their regular curriculums. While technology is extremely helpful, there are certain …show more content…
Previous generations didn't have easy access to devices like iPhones, iPads and computers. They couldn't use google to search whatever they wanted whenever they wanted and since this technology is relatively new, people need to check if it is going to work, especially if it will work in the mass setting of a school. Questions need to be asked such as are all of the bugs worked out? Are there enough devices for the school? How expensive will this be for the school? These questions are extremely important and need to be looked at when making big decisions about technology. Cost is a major factor. If schools can’t afford technology how will that affect the students’ ability to learn? Will it be private schools vs publicity schools. Will private schools have an upper hand when it comes to technology? Creating an even bigger digital divide? When will this balance out? Once a school implements technology there is no going back. For example one writer says “Fast forward a decade or two and I can't imagine writing without a computer” (source D) Technology is life changing, and when used in a positive way academically it can open the door to new worlds that were unknown in the first place, but now can be explored. After all of the questions about the technology itself have been thought through and solved the next stage on the triangle needs to be …show more content…
On this level there are more important questions that need to be considered. Do teachers know what kinds of tech they want to use and what will be most useful to what they are teaching? And also do teachers know how to use the different forms of technology they are implementing in to class curriculums? This may be one of the most important questions to ask teachers, because if they don't know what they are doing then students probably don't know what they are doing either. Once teachers know and can show others what they are doing, when it comes to technology, then the system can run much more smoothly, “and in the process, educators are beginning to interact with students, parents, and each other in ways they never have before” (Source B). Once the middle section of the triangle has been thoroughly contemplated the top level needed to be
