I express myself too well for me to ever allow anyone else to ever speak for me, but JAY-Z has this uncanny ability to speak for, to, and about me, and he does it in a way that people I’ve known my entire life never could. Tupac Shakur famously said, “I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that changes the world.” The validity of that statement remains to be seen, but I can guarantee you that JAY-Z’s music is the component that sparked my brain which led me to change my world.
A lot of people mold their beliefs after books they’ve read; not understanding that reading books doesn’t necessarily make you smarter, it’s the meticulous exercise of reading and application of knowledge that truly molds you. Again, words mean things, some more than others because they strike a nerve inside you that you might not have known even existed. Whether you’re reading words or listening to words, the power in them can absolutely shape your mind.

Does that mean I’m fascinated with death? Not at all! I am, however, very cognizant of the ever-prevalent and undefeated Father Time.
