As Christopher Columbus made his way over to the new world, it became an invasion, as the article stated a “white” invasion. There was a unity with both worlds. The believed that their rituals helped them experience the supernatural world. For them that force was called Wakan Tanka and they believed every object obtained this spirit. They had Wakan people that interacted with material world and the control the lives of men. These characters were often worshipped and praised.
This tribe had a much harder time when learning about Christianity. They did not have similar beliefs or rituals like the Iroquois had. Due to their ties to their land they had a hard time when the settlers invaded their space. They felt like Christianity was very one sided. I believe that since the explorers did not appreciate their land like the Sioux did that gave them a bad taste in their mouth. The explorers thought the land was theirs for the taking when the Sioux appreciate their land. They had a deeper relationship with it.
The Sioux worked hard to keep their culture and religion alive. When they were faced with the whites most of their history was whipped out. Apaches is the third tribe addressed in this article. They lived a nomadic life style which left their rituals or beliefs more sporadic. The apaches did not recognize gods or goddess like the other tribes did. They looked more at supernatural cultural figures. They spent most of their time on surviving and did not have much time for rituals or
