It was first used for medical reasons, (Clark,2001-2018) where now, they promote the violence of wars, hence the irony.
Before gunpowder was invented warfare was more a profession for exports rather than the killing spree it is today. Before Gunpowder was invented, to go into battle you would need a lot of training time, armor and a horse would be desired (Dehning,2016). The killing in warfare before gunpowder was invented was much different in the aspect of skill (Dehning,2016). Some were not and are not emotionally capable of killing someone with a knife or melee weapon. Killing someone with a melee weapon would add a realistic feel to killing your enemy. Rather than killing someone with the click of a finger and the opponent dying instantaneously.
