The people never gave up on the canal. They knew in the long run it would help the world or even part of the world. The engineers they had were top of the line so they all knew that part of the build would be perfect. The canal was and is going to be three football fields long, and hold tons and tons of water in the canal. The impact the canal put on the world is tremendous. It makes water traveling or transporting things a lot easier. The canal is 85 feet above sea level and runs through other rivers and lakes. Even with the rain it got built the yellow fever did make a lot of workers quite and that put a lot of stress on the other workers and people who want and need the Panama Canal built.
