Recall the past when African Americans and white people could not go to the same school, restaurant, and public places. African Americans did not have the same rights as the white did, rather they were severely discriminated. They did not have freedom, a voice in the government, or equal jobs opportunities. Not only were they discriminated, many times they were killed without any reason. All the injustices didn't change in an instant, it took the great effort from Martin Luther and his people to bring change to America. There was a great opposition from every angle, even to a point that hundreds of African Americans were killed brutally. If Martin Luther King had given up on his dreams, legal segregation between black have would still exist to this day. But because Martin Luther King and his people never gave up and still remained fully dedicated to their goals, that is why the change occurred. Now, both the African Americans and Caucasians have the same freedom, same voice in the government and same job opportunities. Just like Woodrow Wilson says, "If you want to make enemies, try to change something". This does not literally mean that someone would want to make enemies, rather it implies that with any change, there will be a hindrance. It highlights that when you are implementing your dreams and changing the world, there are going to be enemies attacking you from every side. When going against injustice or unfairness, trying to better the society, there are always going to be obstacles engulfing you.
