Music and Mood Most people listen to music- whether it’s screamo, classical, or anything in between. I believe everyone listens to the type of music they do because they can connect to it. People connect to music in so many ways that it doesn’t have to be the words or the beat of the song, but a memory of hearing the song with this person or that person at some point in your life. The type of music that makes someone happy varies depending on their past experiences and where they are as their present self. When doing research I found that although people say upbeat music makes you happy, “sad music brings most listeners pleasure and comfort” (Blatchford, paragraph 3), which can also be considered happiness.
