The new deal happened in 1933- 1935 Roosevelt won by a landslide knowing he was president he would have to do something about the Great depression. FDR was not only to be there but was also to respond to the Great Depression. The new deal was a series of projects and programs instituted during the
Great depression by president D Roosevelt.
The new deal was successful in many ways getting people's minds off of the Great depression
Roosevelt inspired a new level of confidence in Americans. FDR kept the nation informed of important events. The goals of the new deal was to pass laws and introduce federal programs aimed at providing relief. The New Deal is still successful today.

There were many successes and failures during this time. The programs addressed the three R's
(relief, recovery, and reform). Relief was for the poor and jobless, recovery was for the economy, and reform of the nations financial system to safeguard against future depression. The failures of the Great
Depression were in the first 10 months 744 banks failed. In all 9,000 banks failed during the decade of the
30's (History.com).
In Roosevelt's first one hundred days many acts were introduced which was to form the basis of the new deal. The new deal was to cover as many issues as could imagine. During the one hundred days
F.D.R took the country in a whole new direction.
March 15, 1933 Roosevelt asked congress to pass the economy act. It cut the pay of everybody who worked for the government and armed forces by 15 percent (Historama.com). Governments departed mental spending was cut by 25 percent (Britannica.com). On March 20, 1933 Roosevelt asked congress to pass the beer act which finally killed of prohibition.
