One day, a boy named Tom decides he is going to try to run away from home. So, he went to try and leave and his brother wakes up, so naturally Tom puts a spider in a jar on his brother and says it is the most poisonous spider to scare him and make him not tell their aunt Tom is leaving. Tom and his friends meet up and head for the river, passing the town drunk, Muck Potter. Tom and his friends get to the river and set off on a boat, but they hit a rock and they all fall in but Tom hits his head and is drowning. Then someone grabs him from the water and saves him so they go home. When Tom get back his aunt is really mad at him or running away and putting the spider on his brother, so his punishment is to whitewash the fence. After a little while Tom becomes bored so he convinces little kids it is fun to whitewash a fence so kids do his work and give him things to do so, including a marble. …show more content…
After a small chat with Huck Tom agrees to go to the graveyard with Huck that night but also realises he is late for school so when he arrives to school his punishment is he has to sit next to a girl named Becky who he likes. After school Tom is walking on a bridge and Becky pushes him off into the river where Huck is so they both set off to the graveyard.
