HUMANIZATION OF SURVEYS
So Humanization of surveys huh..? Is it a good thing? Is it a bad one? We’ll find out :D
Most humans we know tend to be either good or bad- as simple as that. What we want for our survey is a better component of humans that we want A.K.A the glorified human goodness. No one likes an unenthusiastic, dumb person (similar to Zombies- but only that they’re not humans- they ’were’ humans). We are here to make our surveys fun to participate in- not a hassle; unfortunately which they are today.
I have a few ideas that will make a difference on our survey quality and in office terms means m o r e m o n e y. So let’s get started:
Before I list a few measures to the problem, I think it’s only reasonable to state the problem and its sources… Here we go:
Basic feelings that we are focusing on here are: Pride, Impatience, anger, greed, sloth and happiness (or lack of happiness). Now you must ask why most of our attention is on such negative elements of human qualities. The answer is a simple one- because these are the bugs in human interactions that will help us improve our surveys which happen to be chief sources of inbound data.
That makes sense right? You don’t want to get into a fight or trouble of any sorts which hampers your daily work. We just don’t like problems with our work- our daily work. It’s time and energy consuming plus personally I just don’t tend to like problems outside the realms of my work. You and I are good beings- we go to work, make a little money, eat lunch, have a few friendly convos at work, call it a day and be home- or at least that’s what we’d like on a minimalistic scale.
So whatever work I may be doing not only my office work- I would absolutely hate from the bottom of my heart- if I go on a webpage and it asks me to fill out a SuRvEy. How Dare it delay ask me something without my permission!!!
I don’t care if you’re asking me what NASA should spend its money on… I don’t even care if thousands are dying in China due to an earthquake (well at least not at this very moment). It triggers hate in my heart and that would register the survey company or any info related with it as an unassigned ‘enemy’.
Am I being a bit too harsh?? Yes..? Well that’s good news :D ;) Buckle up for a wrath roller coasterrrrrrrr!!
“I am a self centered, self-absorbed- ego maniac swine and you better respect my ego if you want anything from me and even if you don’t!!! I will not give you any information even if you give me a free update or whatsoever until you respect me.” Personally if I were to meet this guy alone- I would’ve knocked some sense in him… which unfortunately as per laws might lead to register a police case against me… oh boy that wouldn’t be fun. But since we want a genuine response from this guy too… punching my fist on his cheek isn’t exactly our solution. In the long run it means less cleaning and more useful data for us.
Time to cut to the points: 1 Provide a music/ xyz document link for download or temporary use after each survey- not points. The people are impatient and only want to keep short term relation with any form of a survey or a company. Points in short term are useless and a waste of effort. 2 Play a pleasing song(s)(little song segment also works) or allow the user to play them as long as they are completing the survey. 3 Surveys are boring very very boring. Provide users some information which may catch their interest… ummm for example ‘ Fun Facts’ works… tell them that “Ketchup was sold in the 1830s as medicine” now you didn’t know that did you?! ;) ahahaha… or these: Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair. OR more people are killed annually by donkeys than die in aircrashes.” Ahahaha that was fun! And that’s exactly what we want our surveys to be! 4 I get bored by clicking, clicking, clicking and then more clicking…. So instead of people putting an input
