Huntington’s Disease is said to be a combination of ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer's. These three afflictions are all dreadful diseases that gather together to form an even more unstable condition, Huntington’s Disease. However, some will say Huntington’s is not the worst or people still live long with it, but it’s the fact that this illness targets different parts of the brain, causing deterioration of the entire human body.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a disorder affecting the nervous system by controlling the muscle movements of chewing, walking and talking. However, Huntington’s Disease is still worse. A patient will experience a plethora of the three symptoms of cognitive disorder, movement disorder and psychiatric disorder. It is a fatal pestilence that nobody can do anything about. The patient has to live with themselves in the state of mind. All three of these powerful diseases add up to make one even worse infection of Huntington’s Disease.
Huntington’s is a hereditary abnormality that can be passed on through the genes, and it also can have a great effect on the spouses and families of the diagnosed. Every single person knows what going through a loved one's death feels like, and nobody should be compelled to feel that, especially if that person suffered through the fatal acts of Huntington’s Disease. All of the factors of Huntington’s Disease add up and lead to the factor of the inevitable death. No matter how hard they wish for a resilient recovery, it will not happen.
Once the painful symptoms begin, the patient should expect to live 10-20 years after that (Reddy). Automatically the family will know that they will need to go through the death with them. Families will do everything they can to make their loved one comfortable and happy; however, they need to go through the prudence of planning the funeral.
