Introduction
Hurricane Irma swept through the coast of Florida sweeping through and destroying a tenth of anything on its path that ranged from people to property. The destruction is witnessed from the Caribbean islands such as the Virgin Islands and the Bermuda Island all the way to Miami Florida. The State of Miami is the worst hit with majority of the residence still leaving in hard conditions days after the hurricane past. For instance, air condition and power remains a huge challenge to the locals. This paper seeks to analysis both the social economic and physical impact of the hurricane to the population of Miami. For example, eight elderly people died in a nursing home as a result of lack of air conditioning facilities. As if that is not enough, the Florida Power Limited (FPL) customers have a contractual obligation with the company not power their homes with alternate power source such as solar panels especially during power outage.
