At the age of eleven, most of us were busy running around at recess, playing games, and loving our carefree lives. We didn’t have any reason to be mature or ever fear the world around us. While we were in our just barely double-digit years, having the time of our lives, Malala Yousafzai was writing diary entries for the BBC about her life under the Taliban’s rule that plagued her hometown and all of the struggles that situation posed. If the Taliban discovered that she was the author, she would be killed. However, in order to get the word out to the rest of the world about how terrible conditions were, Malala wrote on. Her unique and dangerous experiences challenged her into becoming something more than herself. Tirelessly, she worked to improve the lives of everyone around her.
