Even now, we are contaminated with how media depicts racial groups, how politicians like Trudeau and Trump differ in their public announcements, involvement in current social media, how teachers in elementary schools pursue to show some kind of favouritism/preference even though they don’t mean to - and this is including myself. Though I am purely disgusted by the thought of racist acts, my experiences with other races say differently, and I think that’s where we all have some kind of cognitive dissonance - that large curving, though thin, bridge between our experiences and our attitudes is a very strenuous journey which most of us will not be able to finish in our lifetime. All of us have already been somewhat primed in an effort to have an egalitarian world, but we are all intermediates between our history and the future world. Like in our biological evolution, we are trying our best in constructing social transitional forms of egalitarian people. But you and I know this will never happen because of our right to have our own opinions and how we live our life in private. For something like racism to be doomed and never return, it has to stop evolving at the level of the self, media has to stop portraying it, and we have to stop learning about it.
