Through ongoing education and experience gained from working as a nurse, this knowledge continues to change. Nursing research is an essential component of filling knowledge gaps, improving patient outcomes, and advancing the nursing profession. It involves the systematic study of nursing practice by nurses, either by themselves or in collaboration with other disciplines, to validate existing knowledge or advances in knowledge (Nursing Research, 2014). The concept could involve mixed methods, quantitative, or qualitative methods. In quantitative methods, numerical data is collected with accuracy to define patterns and relationships, whereas in qualitative methods, the meanings and subjective experiences implicit in-patient care are explored. By integrating quantitative and qualitative methods, mixed-method approaches provide a thorough knowledge of nursing occurrences (Nursing Research, 2014).
