I’ve always had going to college as my biggest goal after high school. Part of the reason for this is because neither of my parents were able to attend college after their high school. I want to be able to break that cycle, but unfortunately one major obstacle stands in my way, money. My mom is currently on bed rest and unable to work due to medical issues. My dad is the only one bringing money home currently, clearly that money alone will not be enough to pay for me to attend the college I want. Not even if I used all the money I earned while working a job could be enough. Thankfully we have the chance to have financial aid as an option to help us pay for the college expenses. Due to this it has caused her nothing but extreme amounts of endless pain and continuous discomfort. This has led to her having to not be able to attend work. Which drastically lowers the amount of money earned for my family. The massive amount of damage done to her spine had forced her to have surgery on her back in order to help the spine recover and heal from its damage. Because of the surgery she was unable to return to work in order to fully recover. She was put on bed rest until she was able to sufficiently walk without any assistance once again.
