In 1954, Albert Sabin suffered a clinical trial during the process of making the Sabin vaccine. Like many researchers of his time, Sabin heavily opposed Salk’s attempt to insert a dead virus. He trusted the everlasting immunity can be reached with a vital or puny virus. After that, his vaccine was used everywhere in the world, but they don’t use it in the United States because it is strong enough to cause a disease. Since the Salk disease was mostly used in the United States,a nd that’s where Sabin lived, he moved to Russia to find people to help. After five months, ten million children in the Soviet Union got the vaccination and were cured. Albert Sabin acquired a medal in honor from the Russian government at the time of the Cold War. I know a few experiments have gone wrong and were unmoral, but, it can be right if you get their permission. This is called the Nuremberg Code. In the 1930s to 1940s, trials of doctors and public health officials were caused by them doing experiments on hospitalized patients without their consent. This started the debate on if they’re ethical or not. The Nuremberg Code of 1947 was the first document to activate ethical regulations based on informed consent. Because of this document, it is illegal to do unethical experiments on people and patients
