The integumentary system is made up of the skin and it appendages (such as the nails and the hair). Its primary function is to protect the body from damage; it also involved in temperature regulation and in the scenes of touch. Upon exposure to sunlight, the integumentary system is also the primary for vitamin D. There are some major organs in the system and some of those major organs are epidermis and it provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone. Another one is dermis which give flexibility and strength and contain the sensory cell. The next major organ is hypodermis, the hypodermis stor fat which is serves as an energy reserve. The hair protects the skin from environmental influence. Respond to external input and translate information into neurologic impuls. Nails help protect the tip of finger and toe. There are different glands and the glands are sudoriferous, ceruminous, and sebaceous gland. The sudoriferous gland discharge sweat by tiny openings in the surface of skin. Ceruminous glands modified sweat glands in the external ear and they produce a way lubricating secretion. Last of all the sebaceous gland which produce oil called sebum that move up hair follicles to surface of the skin, where oil lubricates skin and hair.Those are all the major organs in the integumentary system. Your eyes or eyelids can fill like fire or beng inflamed, and you could have a swollen nose. Last of all thicker skin is one of the affects. Finally rashes can make you all dry and itchy on your skin. They can appear in different places like inside the elbow, around the knees, or/and on the hands and feet.
