She eagerly thrived to see the children be able to continue in life. She helped make that possible. Irena Sendler wanted the ones she helped to on with their lives. So she started “hiding them I orphanages, convents, schools, hospitals, and private homes, she provided each child with a new identity, carefully recording in code their original names, and placements so that surviving relatives could find them after the war” (“United States Holocaust Museum”). She helped these scared innocent children by protecting them from the war. She wanted them to continue growing up, so she placed them in safe places to do just that. She also not only took the initiative to record each and every one of the 2,500 children’s names, but she also put them in code to make sure they were safe. Irena Sendler was just a very humble person in general, “ though still you, she already had a history of sacrifice on behalf of others, and of defying rising anti- Semitism to reach out to and stand up for Jews” (“ Irena Sendler- rescuer of the children of Warshaw”).
