The article, “The Struggle Continues for Racial Equality in America” by Ginger Adams Otis, proves that the struggle for equality is an ongoing issue that still needs to be resolved. In Otis’s article she states that, “While much ground has been gained with the end of state-segregation, blacks overall are still more likely to be undereducated, unemployed, and live in substandard housing compared to whites in America, according to a new report from the Economic Institute Policy.” This quote supports the idea that blacks are not treated equally as whites even after “The Gettysburg Address” and Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
