During the presentation we’ll be looking at different issues experienced in the second store relevant to these different stages.
We will also provide recommendation on how to avoid these issues in future store opening and on integration training & development.

Selection process:
First of all, I’ll be looking at early stages of the selection process. This starts as soon as all the applications forms and CV’s have been received. This first issue I will be dealing with is Jim’s involvements as this is very important at this stage.
From the information that we have been given we understand that Jim delegated his power to Mary to look after the second store and therefore we assume that he did very little.
As the owner of the whole food store it’s important for Jim to be involved at some stage to get to know the candidates. * Set requirements
Set requirements
At this early stages Jim could maybe set specific requirements which marry can identify in applicants. Such as particular customer skills E.g. the ability to listen closely to customer, clear verbal communication and Situation Evaluation and Analysis
* CV’s
CV’s
Also in order to ensure you’ve attracted the right candidates and filter applications received , Jim and Mary could both sift through the CV’s and pick out potential candidates which than will go on and get interviewed This will give Jim an idea what kind of people will be working for him.
We don’t know how experienced Mary is with regards to recruiting and selection process, she needs to have good judgment to make the right decisions, good interviewing skills, she needs to know exactly Mary experience
Mary experience which skills the store is looking for and eventually, how to go on and manage these people. * Jim should be thinking about providing training on recruitment and selection process to Mary and maybe staff from the first store so they could help out in the future as they have to right skills. Which leads me to my next point.
Provide training
Provide training
Another issue is maybe all this work is too much for Mary, Jim basically handed her store and asked her Mary doing too much much
Mary doing too much much to sort it all out without any advice or requirements or any other help * Maybe get more people involved e.g. staff from the first store to help Mary out as they seem to have the right skills. So they should know what the store is looking for. And that will make the process easier for Mary and there’s more chance they will employ the right people.
* In order to cut the work load for Mary in the later stages of the selection process the CV’s have to be filtered and only potential candidates should be interviewed. This way everyone Filter applicants
Filter applicants who has been chosen will get interviewed
* Cv’s can be filtered by for example , create three piles; * one for those that exactly meet your requirements, * one for those that do not meet requirements at all and * one for those with some of the required qualities
