A tragic hero is someone who tries to do good and ends up doing good but has something bad happen to them in the process. Tragic hero’s end up dying or losing something that means a lot of value our worth to them. A tragic hero can lose their life, or they could lose a family member, or some sort of possession that they might want or need. They give up all these things just to help someone else or something else.

The tragic hero is John Proctor, who is a small town farmer, whose wife was accused of witchcraft and early on learns that the girls are faking the witch trials for attention and to get back at people they don’t like.
