A sports nutritionist is a career in which it is their duty to make and persuade athletes to more nutritious lifestyles and diets. A Sports nutritionist is responsible for: administering nutrition counseling for athletes. Making and engaging with the athlete with menu development plans. Spreading nutrition education for teams, groups and or wellness programs. Academic Requirements: select programs that are accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency such as the (ACEND) or Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. The program should also prepare students to sit for the Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Depending on state taking courses of nutrition education, regulate licensing regulations and set own certification .
