David as a Type and Shadow of the Christ-Figure
Introduction David is well known in the Bible for these three things: 1) being a shepherd boy, 2) defeating Goliath, and 3) becoming the anointed king over all of Israel. God specifically points out to Samuel that this king will not appear as an “ideal king” according to man, but to God, He sees the heart and how internally he is like a king. Jesse sends in all of his sons except David.
